A few days before Easter, the farmer I live with surprised the family with some Easter chicks. That's right...baby chickens. The same baby chickens that eventually turn into big, stinky chickens that form the main ingredient in my Kung Pao Chicken or Chicken Makhani.
My first question: What the heck are we supposed to do with live chickens??? The answer: "These chickens are egg-laying chickens." WHAT!!??
Anyway, folks we have chickens. Aren't they cute in a prey sort of way? Here are the kids playing with their future food:

I asked Amie why there weren't any pictures of Calvin and the chicks, and she informed me that Calvin and baby chicks don't mix ("much like Lennie and and small, soft animals.")
