Jamaica (Finally and Unfortunately!)

Jamaica is beautiful. Can’t you tell?

The 3 hour, 30 mile drive from the airport to the resort was quite educational. A short summary of our lesson would be: Jamaica is a third-world nation. Horrible roads, reckless drivers, and dirty run-down homes are the scenery to and from the resorts.

We spent the week at Beaches Boscobel Resort with the Kellys eating lots of food, swimming, sleeping, and sweating.

The girls had fun interacting with Sesame Street characters. Loreli was too shy to have her picture taken with them, but would cry when they would leave.

On Sunday we were fortunate to attend a local branch of the church that met only minutes away from the resort. It was very nice to meet and talk with the locals during and after the service.

Getting in and out of Jamaica really tarnished the experience for us. Long, non air-conditioned lines and a problem with Amie’s return ticket forced us to take a solemn oath to never, ever visit the place again. You’ve been warned.
