Its the 4th of July!

We stayed home and celebrated our nation's independence with Shane's family, Matt (who is here for a summer internship) and our neighbors, the York's. It was a fun relaxing day, and more importantly, nobody got hurt!

We had a burger BBQ potluck and enjoyed being outside
while it was relatively cool

Henry enjoyed the Cheetos a little too much

The kids showed off their patriotic spirit

After last year, we're not sure why we allowed sparklers

With the York's million dollar box of fireworks
our finale looked something like this...

For some reason the kids enjoyed cleaning up

Glad you all had a safe and fun time. Jon - you can't deny that Henry is your son. Judd has the same thing with Xander. Another mini-me.
P.S. For some reason I can only see updates on your blog every so often. All of a sudden 3 or 4 posts over the last month or so show up when I check it. Any ideas?

Wow Jon good for you, I recently started to train for a marathon also. I made a bucket list and that was one of my items to run a marathon. I had to actually study up on how to train for it. I hope I can get through the traing. Good luck.

risdal5 (Marie): sorry for the confusion with the "sudden 3 or 4 posts" at a time. Nothing is wrong with your browser. Being parents (you know how it is), we have to take advantage of time opportunities and we end up writing posts in batches and simply changing the date/time to match the event date. Is that cheating?

lori: thanks for the encouragement! I'm already on the injured list (fighting horrible shin splints), but I'm looking forward to running next week. Here is a website I find useful for mapping running routes as well as logging workouts: http://www.mapmyrun.com/. Let me know if you are looking for a running schedule that preps you for a marathon and I’ll forward katyfit's on to you.

Good luck to you!
